INTRODUCTION of VEDANTA ASHRAM
Vedanta Ashram was established in 1992 in the Sudama Nagar locality of Indore city by Poojya Guruji Sri Swami Atmananda. Initially it was a small setup, basically for the stay, studies & sadhana of Poojya Guruji Sri Swami Atmanandaji and his disciples. The Gruh Pravesh Pujan was done by Sh Avinash & Ritu Datta of Mumbai on the Dasshera Day in 1992. The Ashram kept on growing as per the needs and today it is aptly called as Vedanta Ashram.
Postal Address of the Ashram is : 2948-50, Sector-E, Sudama Nagar, Indore-452 009. MP, India
We have long-term Vedanta Course and regular short-term Vedanta Camps in the premises. Some of the Ashram students have been initiated into Sanyas and around 6 full-time inmates stay at the Ashram. The Ashram can accomodate around 20 devotees in one batch of the Camp. Appropriate infra-structure has been built for about two dozen people to comfortably stay, study, have food, meditation, prayers and rest. There is a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva, in the form of Bhagwan Sri Gangeshwar Mahadev. The whole place is run & managed by a registered charitable Public Trust called Vedanta Parmarthic Sewa Trust.
Today we proudly see Vedanta Ashram as – a Modern Gurukula for the Ancient Wisdom of Advaita Vedanta.
Vedanta Ashram is also the headquarter of the International Vedanta Mission.
